A consultation is the first step to determine appropriate treatments and products required to address your particular skin concerns. This allows us to get to know you and your skin.

An extensive skin consultation will provide you with a thorough understanding of what is happening within your skin.

We will then be able to prescribe supportive home care and a treatment program. You will also be provided with supplementation and nutritional recommendations to further enhance your results, in conjunction with a targeted treatment plan and customised skin care products.

Please note if you would like us to review your current skincare regime. We recommend taking a photo of your home care products to show us at your appointment.

Skin discovery facial & analysis
In this treatment we will consult with you about your skin, perform a deep cleanse and pop you under our skin analysis device (no pain or down time). We will then review these photos.

You will enjoy a 20-minute session under our LED light. During which your therapist will have a treatment and product recommendation prepared for you.

We’ll finish off with some serums and moisturiser and another chat about your skin and those recommendations.

This service is an in-depth skin analysis using our latest device “THE OBSERV 520”.
This device gives us a more in-depth look at the skin.

Along with showing you real results in real time as we progress through skin corrective treatments.
We will go over treatments, products, and supplements to assist in achieving your desired skin goals.
To begin the treatment, we will begin with a deep cleanse of your skin.

We will then take a series of images in the Observ diagnostic device. (This is completely painless and absolutely no down time).

Afterwards we will review the images captured and proceed with prescriptions and discussing what YOU would like to happen from here.

We encourage you to ask questions and bring a photo of your current skincare you are currently using.

The skin is much more complex than what can be see with the naked eye – that’s why we use the Observ 520 for professional skin analysis. With advanced analysis technology we can view blemishes, fine lines, dryness and uneven skin tone in depth. This allows us to better understand your unique skin concerns to treat existing imperfections, and even address underlying concerns before they become visible.

What happens during my treatment?
The needles create tiny wounds that accelerate the body’s natural healing process and work to repair the skin through increased production of collagen and elastin.

Depending on the treatment area, skin condition and the depth of penetration some clients may experience discomfort.

I will provide more advice and an in-depth consultation based on your specific skin goals.

When will I see results?
Visible improvement to the skin can be seen in as little as 13 days post treatment.

Deeper skin concerns such as uneven skin tone and texture, fine lines and acne scarring will improve with the collagen regeneration process and are generally visible 2-4 weeks following treatment. Most dramatic results will occur 6-12 weeks post-treatment.

What happens after my treatment?
Most clients experience redness and minor pin-point bleeding immediately after a skin needling treatment. Post-treatment redness may appear like a mild sunburn and last 1-3 days.

We will recommend a post-treatment skin care product to assist in skin hydration and accelerate your results. We recommend waiting at least 24 hours post-treatment before applying mineral makeup to the treated area.

How many treatments are required?
Most clients will receive optimal results after 4-6 treatments. We will discuss the number of treatment required to reach your skin health goals during your consultation.

The 4 phases of wound healing

Homeostasis

• Damaged area contracts (vasoconstriction) to reduce bleeding, a fibrin clot forms stopping blood loss (blood clot).
• Followed by vaso dilation resulting in oedema erythema and heat.

Leading on to the next phase –
Inflammatory (can last longer if the skin has not been prepared and is in poor condition).

Inflammatory (1 - 3 Days)

• One of the main stages of wound healing, in the inflammatory phase, macrophages such as neutrophils are perhaps the most important cells in the early phase of wound healing and without them little or no healing will occur. Neutrophils remove debris and bacteria and release growth factors which instigate a vital step to ensure complete healing and regeneration occurs.
• At this stage to reduce oxidative stress and to assist in wound healing apply antioxidants to help in the elimination of cellular debris and reducing cellular inflammation. Topical application of ACE Vitamins. In the first week apply Vit C and E, copper peptides and Retinyl palmitate to ensure the barrier defense is strong and the epidermis can repair quickly.

Proliferation (3 - 20 Days)

• This stage consists of angiogenesis, collagen deposition, granulation tissue formation, epithelialization and wound contraction.
• At this stage you may experience pinhead size rounded nodules, diffused redness or bruising may appear. Epithelial cells migrate across the new tissue to form a barrier between the wound and the environment.
• Keratinocyte numbers increase improving epidermal density.• A new extra cellular matrix is cultivated with fibroblast cells releasing collagen and fibronectin. Fibroblast continue to proliferate and glycosaminoglycans are released.
• New Epithelial cells migrate across the granulation bed to restore the epidermis.
• The skin will be in a fragile state as wound collagen has no strength. The treated area will be more susceptible to UV damage and therefore extra care should be taken during this phase.

Maturative & Remodeling Phase (20 Days-2 Years)

• Fibroblasts replace Type III collagen with Type I collagen. Final stages of maturation and remodeling phase will be seen when the wound becomes smaller by the contraction ability of the myofibroblast cells.
• During this phase UV exposure can increase collagenase which will break down wound collagen and weaken the new Type I collagen.

How do MediLUX treatments work?

LED treatments with MediLUX utilise 1,500 powerful light emitting diodes ranging from blue to green, yellow, red and near-infrared. Each light wavelength targets different specific skin concerns, and treatment is commonly used to address acne congestion, facial redness, pigmentation, uneven tone, ­neck lines, wrinkles and signs of ageing.

Skin prep with the Synergie skincare is essential when embarking on advanced treatments such as peels. We do require clients purchase the Synergie post treatment kit to ensure your skin is given the best possible chance when healing.

Pre and post care will help your skin recover from these treatments in a more predictable efficient way.

The level of a peel does not indicate the shedding of skin reaction level.

The higher the level the more skin prep required. Some higher-level peels will cause increased shedding others will not. Just as some lower-level peels will cause shedding and some will not.

The levels do indicate the ingredients and outcome the peel is working on.

Some of our peels are labelled cold peels.

These peels are safe for all Skin types and variations of pigmentation.

The cold peels indicate that on hormonal pigmentation and darker skin types we are less likely to see any PIH as we are not heating the skin.

We use this method on hormonal pigmentation such as melasma rather than the run of the mill, peel your entire face off peels that some clinics are selling. This is due to what we call bounce back.

Rather than spending thousands of dollars on one peel that will usually see the pigmentation returning within a few years we suggest a course of our cold peels and maintain the results with a tyrosinase inhibitor such as enlighten by Synergie.

How long will it take to see results?
Results can be seen immediately and even more so in approx 2 weeks after treatment. The skin will then continue improving over 2-3 months. Results are expected to last 2-5 years, the treatment can be repeated.

How many treatments will I need?
1-2 treatments are often enough depending on your skin type etc. For some clients a 3rd or even 4th treatment may be required to achieve the desired outcome especially for Upper Blepharoplasty. Any follow up treatments can be carried out after 12 weeks. These treatments are at 50% of full price if booked and completed within 6 months of initial treatment.

How long do results last?
Usually 2-5 years depending on your skin type, diet, environment and how your skin naturally ages.

Are there any after effects?
Plaxpot treatments are completely safe. Immediately after the treatment the treated area will be a little red and swollen. Swelling lasts 1-3 days. The small carbon dots will dry to become small scabs. Scabs must never be picked or scratched off as this can cause scarring. Scabs fall off after approx 7 days.

Absolutely no sun on the area without protection for 3 months.
